"I have come to understand that the world is only as ordinary as I chose it to be. It's a choice between taking the world for granted, assuming I know enough about a thing, and engaging the rare vision from 'seeing again'." `Pam Oken-Wright

About Us
Mission Statement:
We are here to provide a unique educational experience that nurtures the skills, emotional growth, character and spiritual development of children.

Philosophy

At Gan Malibu we strive to bring together investigational and research-based learning, integrating academics with creative problem solving. Here the elements of questioning, collecting, organizing and reflecting act to integrate state standards with moral development as part of lived experience. We see children as competent and confident, not as empty vessels needing to be filled but as vessels overflowing with ideas and imagination.
As a Jewish school, we are a destination for learning and a place of cultivating culture; encouraging mitzvoth (good deeds) and middot (act of kindness). Our teachers and students build upon opportunities for learning in relationship to the world and community that surrounds it.
Your child will be surrounded with warm and caring teachers who will help them to reach their fullest potential. Our stimulating environment is designed for your child to explore the mysteries of the world through their own exploration. We see every child as an individual and focus on both building a trusting relationship with them and framing curriculum around their personal needs. Encouragement is constant and plentiful as each child learns to interact with others and effectively express feelings and needs. We take great care in fostering self-esteem.
For families who choose Gan Malibu, the inquiry and experiential based learning that helps realize the values and academic objectives requires adults and children to be open to experiment, to rediscover what collaboration means in our culture, and to work together with you child's best interest in mind. Your child's experience here will be rich and full. We welcome families from all walks of life. Our approach to Judaism is best described as fun-filled and joyous and our approach to teaching is finding ' Meaning in the Mundane'.
