Overall Goals:

These early years are a unique time in children’s lives. Young children are discovering the world around them; they are filled with wonder and excitement. As an educator, I feel that this creates an incredible opportunity to facilitate children’s growth and development. These early yeas of preschool are a transition for the children from the security of their homes to school life. It is our responsibility to make this transition as smooth and as pleasant as possible. In an accepting, loving and stimulating atmosphere, the children will be taught to play peacefully and safely with one another, to follow instructions and participate in-group activities. 

Daily Schedule:

9:00-9:45: Free Play/Centers / open ended art

9:45-10:00: Circle Time/music and movement

10:00-10:10: Snack

10:10-11:00: Group activity/ Crafts/Centers

11:00-12:00: Outside Play

12:00-12:20: Lunch

12:20-12:30 Story time

12:30 Am children go home

12:30-1:00: Quiet time / reading

1:00 – 2:00 rest time / pre k focus

2:00 – 3:00 free play/ centers/ open ended art

The Gan Malibu Preschool recognizes that every child has unique learning styles and play interests. With this in mind, we provide a differentiated curriculum that is adapted for each child. For instance, if a child shows an aptitude and a love for numbers and math, we will encourage this interest and provide the child with the necessary tools to learn arithmetic. If a child expresses an interest in art, we will provide the opportunities and encourage the child to draw, paint, and sculpt.

The curriculum is an integrated curriculum, a seamless weave, combining thematic units, with language, art, drama, song, math, and science and Jewish Holidays.
