When classrooms contain students of varied ages, teachers concentrate on what children can do, rather than what they can’t do. Teachers focus on instructing each child according to his or her own strengths.
We, at Gan Malibu encourage open-ended explorations between the children and our school environment. Through observation and documentation we mold our surroundings to both challenge and encourage creativity among our students. Long-term projects allow for a deepening of understanding and thought processes as well as reflective thinking. The way we present materials is through clear intention and seen from a child's perspective.
All of this could not be possible without first knowing our students as individuals and partnering with parents to create a curriculum that supports and nourishes your child. We function as a community in our school setting and then with our families and grow outward into our city of Malibu.
As a resident of Malibu (I grew up here) to see this kind of business / establishment makes me truly happy and proud. The work that Gan is doing in terms of supporting family and the entire community is profound. With my utmost respect and highest recommendation, I thank Gan for supporting me through the first 2 years (the most trying years of me life ! hello! ). I couldn't have done it with out this place.
Look no further! This is hands down the best preschool in Malibu! My daughter grew so much in a positive way since being at Gan. Sarah is the most incredible lady and so welcoming. All the kids play so well together there and you get updates about what your child is doing with pictures. Your child will learn about different cultures, do amazing art projects and if you're lucky go to the Underwood Farm to pick vegetables. I can't say enough about this school!
A fantastic loving place that embraces kids from every religion/culture. The teachers are exceptionally creative and cutting-edge in their professional skills. My children were deeply cared about at this preschool and were academically above the bar when they entered kindergarten. This school plants the ever important seeds of a love of school, learning, discovery and interest in their world. Thank u Sara!
